The Wolves takes an honest look at high school-aged women playing soccer and encountering life together. A girls club soccer team navigates the complexities — the ups and downs, wins and losses — of a season of soccer as they try to score (and reach) some goals.
The Wolves is one of my favorite plays since I read it my freshman year of college. This play struck a lot of us and ever since then we were pushing for Auburn to produce it. This season they did and it is funny enough that this was my last college production.
Dr. Tessa Carr directed this production in collaboration with the leadership that I had the honor of being on. We broke from the traditional structure and followed a more feminist structure of directing and being in the rehearsal room. This truly created a safe place for the actors to play and for everyone to collaborate. I strive to use this structure moving forward in my theatre practice.
